"Does anyone know what I can do with my daughter this summer?' asked Kelly.
"We can go pea picking."
"Pea picking? Where?"
"In Commerce. The college planted acres of peas for a research study and now they're through with their project and have opened the field to the public. We can have a pea picking party!"
The next day we loaded up in our cars and traveled twenty miles to the purple hull pea field. To our amazement, there were more peas than any of us could pick. Why weren't more folks taking advantage of getting out into the farm fresh air and picking peas? The harvest was present and plenteous but . . . the laborers?
And so it is with souls. Everywhere. There's an abundance.
Help us to see everyone as you see them. May we stand in the gap and speak words of encouragement, life and truth as we work the harvest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
