"Oh, those are the best, but you'll have to wait a couple of years before they'll bear fruit."
"Because it has to establish its root system. If it blooms, just pinch the flowers off. Why some trees can take up to ten years to produce fruit!"
Planting. Waiting. Fertilizing. Pruning. Waiting. The plant nursery clerk was right. While we waited the tree grew tall and slender. Branches and leaves flourished. Two years after planting the fruit trees, all our labor and patience paid off with a bountiful peach crop which we used to make peach jam, peach cobbler and peach ice cream.
So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Galatians 6:9 The Message
